Election

1990 to 1994 saw remarkable events.

Nelson Mandela is enthusiastic when greeting a crowd in Cape Town. Rally monitors carry a child who has been injured during a pre-election rally in Cape Town. Women in King Williams Town pray for peace from the pre-election violence. Women get the giggles while waiting in a queue to vote in East London. Residents of a rural Eastern Cape village wait to vote. An elderly woman is assisted after voting for the first time in her life in a rural Eastern Cape village. Girls tend to the normal daily task of fetching water at the end of the first day of voting in a rural Eastern Cape village.
In Cape Town a soldier and township child, normally adversaries, greet each other in peace on the day Nelson Mandela is announced the winner for the election.
